Saratoga, California

The design character of this remodel was driven by a desire for an elegant, clean-line, clutter-free environment. Throughout the house, changes were made to better suit the residents’ lifestyle and aesthetic preferences. Spaces were reapportioned, expanding a master bedroom and creating a living room with more intimate proportions. A guest bedroom and bathroom, study, living room and foyer also received upgrades.

A neutral color palette, recessed lighting and an emphasis on natural light enhance the serene quality of the home. Abundant natural light is captured through thoughtfully placed skylights and windows. The interior’s crisp lines rely on customized, efficient storage and built-ins handcrafted by the skillful homeowner. Special features include: a tucked-away bed with an overhead stargazing window and remotely controlled morning sun shade; master suite access to a garden patio; a master bedroom built-in media wall containing a fireplace, window and storage; and a sun-washed master bathroom with whirlpool tub and glass shower.
