The renovation opens living, dining and kitchen areas into a common space and upgrades two bedrooms and a bathroom. The addition includes: a newly configured front entry with an ipe deck and siding; a foyer separated from the kitchen with a freestanding cabinet/room divider, accommodating a tucked-away coat closet, laundry area and single-can depth pantry; and an expanded kitchen with center-island and built-in breakfast nook. A future, Phase II plan adds a modest second story and butterfly roof without compromising the intimate scale of the original structure.
